I’ve been following this comment thread on Deep Strength’s blog.

Yesterday, some woman calling herself “pamelaparizo” showed up in the comments, and proceeded to leave a comment longer than the original post, in which it became clear that she was attempting to teach Deep Strength, the blog’s male proprietor, and had no interest in learning. However, her very long and very wrong comment, rather than being dismissed out of hand, received a medium length answer from Earl, and an exhaustive refutation from Deep Strength.

But even though Deep Strength lowered himself to answering her ridiculous arguments,

Charlottesville And Why I don’t Write

Sunday morning, after Divine Liturgy and coffee hour at church, I drove 2 hours to meet with a couple like-minded men–one that I’d met before, and one that I hadn’t. We smoked our pipes and talked about farming, hunting, St. John Chrysostom, rifles, pipe tobaccos, and how to reach out and help other men. I enjoyed myself immensely.

Naturally, one of the topics that came up was the previous days “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville. We discussed whether it was overall positive or negative. We discussed why right-wing activism is doomed in our current environment, and why it might have been better to have the unannounced torch-light rally the night before, but then just not show up for the advertised rally. We talked about the priestesses of satan that had showed up to express the devil’s disapproval of the rally. And we talked about what the proper path is for Christians.

When I spoke, I said too little

The biggest surprise for me when I participated in Reactionary Ian’s last live-stream was just how hostile some of the other panelists–self-described patriarchal Christians all–were to Biblical patriarchal headship in marriage, and how quickly they tripped over themselves to proclaim a need for a wife to limit her submission in order to prevent her husband … Read more…

For clarity’s sake

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. —Titus 2:2-6

When I write here or speak in person against women’s blogs or women’s ministries featuring women teaching other women, this passage is my critics’ most commonly used ammunition.

Hear ye the parable of the puppy

Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”–Matt 3:36 (ESV)

Deep Strength has a post up entitled “Real-life Ruths” that is somewhat related to my post “Consider the puppy.” I’m going to share some more of my most recent experiences in the marriage marketplace, to continue to illustrate the point.

Consider the puppy, learn his lesson

This post is for the unmarried men in my audience, but in a way that is not usually true, it is also for the unmarried women I know lurk here. No, I will not make an exception to the comments policy for this post–I don’t need to hear what you women have to say, quite the opposite. I’m going to tell you how to land a husband that would otherwise be out of your league. If you don’t understand, read it again. If you still don’t understand, email me–do not comment on this post.

In a recent post, Donal laid out the two main options available to marriage-minded men today:

J. Lee Grady–Capturer of weak women

For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. —2 Timothy 3:6-7 (ESV)

The wisdom of banning female commenters continues to become more evident. Consider this comment, which a female attempted to leave on my post J. Lee Grady: Christian women should not marry men who believe the Bible. This woman shows the absence of her male authority, and this is my attempt to send that ass home.
