I spent today helping Bob move into a new apartment. A few times in the past year or two, I’ve had the chance to acquire (for free) things in good shape that I didn’t need, but seemed like they would be useful. Because of this, I was able to give Bob a bunk-bed for his kids, another twin bed for himself, mattresses for both, a sturdy kitchen table, and a couch. These are the only furniture items Bob possesses, but for the first time he is not sleeping on a folding cot in a parishioner’s living room.
Bob has made some good progress in the gym as well. When he started in January, he could not do more than 2 sets of 10 push-ups. Now he does dips with a 45 lb. plate hanging from his waist. He’s still a very skinny guy, but he doesn’t look disabled anymore. And his mental health is far better than it was.
Thanks to those of you who have kept Bob in your prayers, and please continue to do so.
