  1. It is important that a wife be wise and strong.
    (composite case)
Lets say you tell her NOT to reveal any details about your family life to strangers.
She has something medical to be done during the day when you are away or can’t conveniently be with her.
An authority figure at the hospital hands her a form asking for all kinds of details having nothing to do with what is going on with her health complaint, has lots of fine print signing away her rights, etc. Does she fill it in or not? Does she sign that they can raid your bank account or use the credit card provided if the insurance is late?
A wise, strong woman will say no, or what do you need this for, and not be intimidated by strangers.
One that is weak or doesn’t wish to rock the boat, or whenever any kind of authority figure – a policeman, a doctor, etc. insists is breaking the submission to the husband.
I’m not quite sure what the woman was getting at in her comment.
A woman must be an extension of her husband’s will as he is the head and makes the decisions. Not simply weakly submissive.

  2. I laughed at that one.

Hey lady! Instead of using your “strong woman” abilities to sharpen your husband’s leadership skills, why not use your “strong woman” abilities instead to sharpen your followership skills and make your husband’s job easy?

What does the Scripture say about a man who has to live with a woman who is fighting his leadership?

“It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.”

“A continual dripping on a rainy day and a quarrelsome wife are alike; to restrain her is to restrain the wind or to grasp oil in one’s right hand.”

“It is better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and fretful woman.”

When the Scriptures are saying that being away from an unsubmissive wife is a good thing, it’s hard to argue that such a one is God’s blessing as this woman proposes.
